The Czechoslovak Football Championship in 1925 was the first officially held championship in Czechoslovakia . It was played from March 1 to November 8, 1925 in the so-called Asociační liga . This name came about because the league united all football associations in Czechoslovakia. These included the Czechoslovak association ČSSF, the German DFV, the Hungarian MLSz, the Jewish KMKRJ and the Polish PZPN, with only the first two professional clubs providing.

The Asociační league was a professional league . Before they were established, 16 clubs had committed themselves to the professional statute, ten of which were accepted into the first division, and six teams played in the second division. Prague was so far ahead of the other parts of the country economically and therefore also athletically that all ten teams in the first division came from the capital, including the German DFC Prague . Two other Prague clubs and SK Kladno played in the second division , as did three German clubs from the Sudetenland , namely Teplitzer FK , Karlsbader FK and DSK Brüx .

A total of 139 professional players were registered, Slavia Prague had 15, Sparta Prague , AFK Vršovice and DFC Prague 13 each, SK Viktoria Žižkov ten, Nuselský SK , SK Libeň and Meteor Prague nine each, the second division clubs Teplitzer FK and Karlsbader FK each five and the DSK Brüx two. The condition for entry into the professional league was a monthly player salary of at least 200 crowns. It was an open secret that some clubs could not pay this sum, but they were allowed to go.

The league was played in a single round in the spring of 1925. The winner was Slavia Prague due to the better goal quotient compared to Sparta Prague. After the end of the season Sparta was actually the leader of the table, but their 7-1 win against AFK Vršovice was canceled because the condition of the pitch was retrospectively declared to be abnormal. The replay on November 8, 1925, well after the end of the season, Sparta won 3-2, but now had the worse goal quotient compared to Slavia Prague. If Sparta had taken the 3-1 lead over time, their goal quotient would have been two tenths better. The Prague derby on June 6, 1925, Sparta was able to win 2-0 against Slavia in front of 20,000 at Letná Stadium . The goals scored the national strikers Otto Šimonek and Ferdinand Hajný . The top scorer in the league was Jan Vaník from Slavia.

During the current season it was decided to only play the first half of the season in order to be able to switch to the autumn-spring mode based on the English model from the coming season . It was also decided that in the future each association should organize its own championship, so that the four German clubs could no longer compete with the Czech teams for the time being. The DFV was against this decision, but could not do anything. The Czechoslovak Association expanded the 1st league from ten to twelve teams, which made it possible to disband the 2nd league, which was unattractive from the Czech point of view. For the Středočeská 1st league 1925/26 , the last two in the 2nd league SK Čechie Praha VIII and Slavoj Žižkov , who should have been denied the sporting quality for the top division, also qualified.
