Joseph "Joe" Laumann (born August 31, 1983 in Marrakech ) is a former German soccer player and current soccer coach .
Career as a player
Born in Morocco, the son of a German and a Moroccan woman came to Westphalia when he was ten. For the E-youth he joined the SV Fortuna Hagen, and then later switched to the Sportfreunde Oestrich-Iserlohn . He played his first years in senior football at TuS Iserlohn in the association league. In 2004 he moved to SpVgg Erkenschwick in the Oberliga Westfalen , but left Stimberg a year later to join FC Schalke 04 .
In Gelsenkirchen he played primarily in the second team, but under coach Ralf Rangnick he also got his chance in the professional team and was substituted on for Kevin Kurányi in the first round of the DFB Cup in the 3-0 win in Bremerhaven in the 70th minute . On September 24, 2005, the seventh match day of the 2005/06 season , Laumann came for 38 seconds for his first and only professional league appearance. Rangnick replaced him against Hannover 96 in the 90th minute for Lincoln . The match report said: “But the youngster was only allowed to play for a few seconds. It wasn't enough to make contact with the ball. ”After Mirko Slomka replaced Rangnick as coach, Laumann was no longer considered for the professional squad, but made a total of 23 games for the second team in the league. He added two more goals to his nine goals in his last appearance for the “Knappen” when he scored a brace against his old club from Oer-Erkenschwick for a 2-0 win. So he said goodbye to the northern regional division Rot Weiss Ahlen , where he was used in the 2006/07 season mainly in the regional division, but also in some upper division games.
For the 2007/08 season he went to VfB Lübeck , for which he also worked in regional and major leagues. After only one half series, the contract with the Hanseatic city threatened by bankruptcy was terminated and the change to FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt announced. After he completed a trial training under the name of Joseph Ratzinger at Vitesse Arnheim without informing his club, he was dismissed without notice from FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt after it became known, for which he only played three games. On October 16, 2008 it was announced on the website of Sportfreunde Siegen that they had signed the player for their NRW League squad. He had already trained with the team for two weeks, but originally hoped to be signed by a higher-class team.
After the 2008/09 season he left the Sportfreunde Siegen again and joined the second team of the MSV Duisburg , which also played in the NRW League. For the 2010/11 season he moved to the Cypriot club APOP Kinyras Peyias , with whom he played in the First Division . However, he left the club after six months and then played for the club Vissai Ninh Binh FC in the V-League in Vietnam.
On January 31, 2012 Laumann signed a contract with the national league club SV Hohenlimburg 1910 . With the club he made it to the Westphalia League as runner-up . In January 2013, the striker moved to the Oberliga newcomer SC Roland Beckum , whom he scored with nine goals in 17 back-round games to stay in the Oberliga Westfalen . At the end of 2014 he ended his playing career there.
Career as a coach
Together with his Beckum trainer Ismail Atalan , Joseph Laumann joined the regional league team Sportfreunde Lotte at the beginning of 2015 to work there under Atalan as his assistant coach. Laumann continued to live in Hagen . With the team, Atalan and Laumann achieved promotion to the 3rd division in 2016 , as well as relegation there in the following season; The team also reached the quarter-finals in the 2016/17 DFB Cup .
In mid-July 2017, Laumann Atalan followed the second division club VfL Bochum , where he also took on the role of assistant coach. After Atalan was released almost three months later after only 10 games, Laumann's contract with VfL was terminated in October 2017 by mutual agreement.
In November 2017, Laumann returned to Sportfreunde Lotte, where he was again assistant coach under head coach Andreas Golombek .
