The Czechoslovak Football Championship 1925/26 was the second officially held championship in Czechoslovakia . It was played from August 15, 1925 to July 25, 1926 in the so-called Středočeská 1st League .
After the cross-association championship in 1925, the Czechoslovak football association ČSSF decided that in future each association should host its own championship, so that the four German clubs of the Asociační liga could no longer compete with the Czech teams for the time being. The DFV was against this decision, but could not do anything. The DFC Prague left the league, instead SK Kladno moved up.
The Czechoslovak Association expanded the 1st league from ten to twelve teams, which made it possible to disband the 2nd league , which was unattractive from the Czech point of view .
For the Středočeská 1st league 1925/26, the last two in the 2nd league SK Čechie Praha VIII and SK Slavoj Žižkov , who should have been denied the sporting quality for the top division, also qualified. The two teams were actually penultimate and last by far.
The Středočeská 1st league was a professional league . Only teams that had committed to the professional statute in 1925 took part in it. Eleven teams came from Prague , plus SK Kladno.
The league was played in a round trip in autumn 1925 and in spring 1926. The winner was Sparta Prague , one point ahead of Slavia Prague .
After the season, the professional clubs no longer wanted to subordinate themselves to the ČSSF and instead set up their own sub-association. Lengthy discussions meant that in autumn 1926 there was no play. Finally, the clubs and association agreed to hold a qualifying round for the 1927/28 championship in the spring of 1927 . The eight best-placed teams of the 1925/26 season took part.
