The Chuluut River ( Mongolian Чулуут гол , Chuluut Gol ) is a right tributary of the Ider in the Arkhangai Aimag in central Mongolia .
The river has its source on the northern flank of the western Changai Mountains . It flows in a northerly direction through the Archangai Aimag. He passes the settlement of the same name. The most important tributary of the Chuluut, the Suman , flows from the left. The Tschuluut briefly forms the border with the Chöwsgöl-Aimag and finally flows into the Selenga source river, the Ider, which flows to the east . The Chuluut River has a length of 415 km. It drains an area of around 20,000 km². The river is ice-covered for 5–6 months a year. In summer the river is flooded . The mean discharge (MQ) is 25 m³ / s.
