Ski jumping

On January 10, 2003 Ichinohe started in the Continental Cup for the first time and reached 11th place on the normal hill in Sapporo and with it his first Continental Cup points. Two weeks later on January 25, 2003, he was then nominated as part of the national group for the World Cup jumping in Sapporo. He did not compete in the first competition, but reached 46th place in the second competition. He continued to jump in the Continental Cup and was able to achieve his first top 10 results there. At the World Cup jumping on January 24th and 25th, 2004 in Sapporo he was able to qualify again for the finals, but once again reached 40th and 35th place no World Cup points. A year later he won his first Continental Cup competition on the same hill, after making the top 10 several times in the 2004/05 season . On February 5, 2005, he went back to the World Cup in Sapporo and this time was able to win his first World Cup points with 27th place in the first competition and 16th place in the second competition. In the team competition on February 12, 2005 in Pragelato he reached 6th place together with Daiki Itō , Noriaki Kasai and Takanobu Okabe . The 2005/06 World Cup season did not start out as successfully for Ichinohe. So he mostly stayed outside of the points. On his home hill in Sapporo, however, he was able to convince again and with 14th place jumped the best individual placement of his career in the World Cup.

At the 2006 Winter Olympics he reached 25th place on the large hill and came 6th in team jumping.

At the team world cup jumping on March 4, 2006 he reached the 4th place with the team. After that he could not reach any top places and only won World Cup points in one jumping. He finished his last World Cup competition on December 16, 2006 in Engelberg in 48th place. After two jumps in the FIS Cup in Japan, he temporarily ended his active ski jumping career after jumping on March 10, 2007 in Sapporo. On January 8, 2011, he surprisingly celebrated 20th place at a Continental Cup in Sapporo. He competed in the last competition of his career a day later.
