Annals of Tukulti-Ninurta II.

Tukultī-Ninurta II ruled as the Assyrian king from around 890 to 884 BC. The name means My Trust is Ninurta .

Tukultī-Ninurta was the son and successor of King Adad-nirari II. He conquered some Aramaic small states near Harran , the middle Euphrates valley and the area between the great Zab and the small Zab when he proceeded against Nairi . Tukultī-Ninurta also led campaigns against the ʾItū and made rich booty, but could not finally subjugate them. Compared to its two predecessors, however, it was less active externally, but concentrated military actions primarily on previously conquered areas, which should serve as an Assyrian demonstration of power.

His successor was his son Aššur-nâṣir-apli II.
