The Rein da Tuma is the upper reaches of the Vorderrhein in the Swiss canton of Graubünden . It rises below the Martschallücke , crosses the Alp Tuma and flows into the Tomasee , in Rhaeto-Romanic Lai da Tuma . Before it reaches the lake, it and its source streams flow through a plain and form small meanders . The Rein da Tuma leaves Lake Toma in a north-easterly direction. After almost two kilometers, most of the water is withdrawn from a water intake and fed into the Curnera reservoir . After the confluence of a nameless stream above Tschamut , the name changes to Vorderrhein.
