Tuomo Suni

Tuomo Suni (* 1977 in Kirkkonummi , Finland ) is a Finnish violinist specializing in historical performance practice .

Tuomo Suni started playing the violin at the age of four. Since 1996 he has specialized in the baroque violin . First he taught Kreeta-Maria Kentala , later Enrico Gatti at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague . In 1997 he was a member of the Baroque Orchestra of the European Union (2010 concertmaster). In 2003 he completed his bachelor's degree , in 2005 he received his master's degree . Tuomo Suni currently lives in Glasgow .

In 2002 he won the International Van Wassenaer Competition and the International Premio Bonporti Concours with the Ensemble Opera Quarta . In 2007 the group received the coveted Diapason d'or for their CD Recréation en musique with works by Jean-Marie Leclair . In addition to regular appearances with Opera Quarta, Tuomo Suni has given concerts with well-known ensembles such as Capriccio Stravagante , Ricercar Consort , Les Muffati , Ensemble Masques , Vox Luminis , B'Rock , Holland Baroque Society and The Helsinki Baroque Orchestra . He has also worked with The English Concert , the Gabrieli Consort & Players , The King's Consort , Bach Collegium Japan , L'Arpegiatta and Il complesso barocco . In many of these formations he appears together with concertmaster Sophie Gent .
