Turbach is a village with 200 inhabitants in Saanenland , on the southwestern edge of German-speaking Switzerland . It is located east of Gstaad at an altitude of 1350 m above sea level. M. and belongs to the political municipality of Saanen .
Turbach is a scattered settlement along the Turbachbach with a small village center called Dörfli . Most of the residents work in agriculture, while some work in the nearby villages (especially in Gstaad). A grocery store and two restaurants (in summer) form the infrastructure of the village.
Hikes can be undertaken from the Turbachtal, for example to the Giferspitz , to Lauenen or into the Obersimmental . A sunny cross-country ski slope is prepared in winter. A post bus course connects the health resort of Gstaad with the village of Turbach.
