Turhal Özdal (born August 3, 1972 in Bietigheim ) is a German politician ( CDU , previously Greens ). From 2015 to 2019 he was a member of the Bremen Parliament .

biography

Family, education and work

Özdal grew up in Bremen and attended school here until he graduated from high school. He then studied law at the University of Bremen , passed the first state examination in law and then worked as a trainee lawyer in Lower Saxony. After passing the second state examination in law, he was admitted to the bar. He works as a freelance lawyer with offices in Bremen and Bremerhaven .

Özdal is married and has one child. He lives in Bremerhaven- Mitte .

politics

Özdal was a member of the Greens in Bremerhaven. In 2015 he was elected city councilor in Bremerhaven and a member of the Bremerhaven state parliament. After differences of opinion in the further political direction, he resigned from the Greens on February 15, 2016 and switched to the CDU. Özdal joined the CDU on March 1, 2016. Özdal was represented in the electoral review court (substitute member), committee for port matters in the state of Bremen (member), committee for federal and European affairs, international contacts and development cooperation (substitute member), budget and finance committee (state) (substitute member), Petitions Committee (Land) (member), Legal Committee (member), Judge Election Committee (deputy member) and in the State Deputation for Economy, Labor and Ports (member). Most recently he worked for the CDU parliamentary group in the budget and finance committee and in the legal committee in the Bremen state parliament.
