The Turka ( Russian Турка ) is a tributary of Lake Baikal in the Russian Republic of Buryatia in Siberia .
The Turka rises on the western slope of the Ikat Mountains . From there it flows in a predominantly westerly direction through the mountains and after 272 km it reaches Lake Baikal at the place of the same name . The Turka drains an area of 5870 km². Its catchment area borders on that of the Barguzin in the north and that of the Kurba in the south . 26 km above the mouth, the mean discharge is 50 m³ / s.
