history

From the former castle, from which 350 to 400 meters north-northwest, the Outbound Wasserburg castle Prebrunn was no historical information are known. It probably dates from the High Middle Ages, as can be seen from the high mound. Maybe it comes from the period around the year 1181, at that time was in a barter between the Bavarian Duke I. Otto and the monastery Prüfening mentions a "Domus". However, it is not certain whether this was the Steingrube tower hill castle. Later, in 1347, the Regensburg citizen Erhart der Igel sold his fiefdom property, including "the garden that is located on the staingrüb and that of the Ludweig pawet" . The castle itself was not mentioned, but still existed at that time, later, in 1614, the complex was called "Erdingerischer Garten" and in 1829 "Seppengarten" . On a drawing from 1644, which shows the state of 1614, the complex next to the Prebrunn moated castle is still intact. The small castle probably only served as the seat of the respective property owner or his administrator.

The polygonal tower hill had a diameter of 40 meters with the water-filled ring moat on a drawing . Today, the Burgstall, which is located in the garden area and is largely overbuilt, is recorded by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation as a ground monument D-3-6938-0116 "Archaeological findings and finds in the area of a former tower hill from the Middle Ages" .
