Tychero ( Greek Τυχερό ( n. Sg. )) Is a city in the northeastern Greek region of East Macedonia and Thrace . It is located near the Evros River , which forms the border with Turkey. The national road Ethniki Odos 51 runs west of the city . In 2011 the city had 2311 inhabitants.

In the Ottoman Empire , Tychero was called Bıdıklı (Greek: Μπίντικλι). After the Balkan Wars (1912-1913) it became part of Bulgaria, and in 1920 part of Greece. Then it was renamed Tychio . The city has had the current name Tychero since 1953. In March 2006, the city was affected by flooding. The living conditions in the Tychero reception camp were criticized in 2015.
