Tymofij Serhijowytsch Mylowanow ( Ukrainian Тимофій Сергійович Милованов ; born March 18, 1975 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian economist and politician. Since August 29, 2019, he has been the Minister for Economic Development , Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine in the Honcharuk cabinet .

Life

Tymofij Mylowanow graduated from the Physics and Mathematics School No. 145 in Kiev and then studied at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute , which he graduated in 1997 with a degree in management. He received a master's degree in economics from the Kiev-Mohyla Academy in 1999 and a master's degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 2001 , where he also received a doctorate in economics in 2004. He was then a postdoctoral fellow and associate professor at the University of Bonn between 2004 and 2008 and assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania from 2008 to 2011 . From 2010 to 2013 he was also a lecturer at Pennsylvania State University . At the University of Pittsburgh , he was initially assistant professor from 2013 and from 2015 adjunct professor with a permanent position.

In 2014 he was one of the founders of VoxUkraine, a group of Ukrainian and foreign economists involved in Ukraine's public policy. In 2015 Mylowanov became a member of the international academic council of the Kyiv School of Economics ("KSE"; Київська школа економіки ) and in 2016 its president. Between 2015 and 2016 he was also deputy editor of the Review of Economic Design . From Forbes -Ukraine he was included in the ranking of the best Ukrainian economists 2014, 2015. By decision of the Verkhovna Rada , Mylovanov became a member of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Ukraine on July 7, 2016 for a term of five years and its Deputy Chairman in October 2016. He supported the initiative of the former Minister for Social Policy, Andrij Rewa, to fight tax evasion.

After the formation of the government of the Honcharuk cabinet on August 29, 2019, after the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Energy were annexed to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, he became the independent Minister for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.
