Tyrone Edgar

Tyrone Damien Edgar (born March 29, 1982 in Greenwich , London ) is a former British athlete .

Tyrone Edgar was the starting runner of the British 4-by-100-meter relay , which won the gold medal at the 2000 Junior World Championships . The season ran in the cast Tyrone Edgar, Dwayne Grant, Tim Benjamin and Mark Lewis-Francis . In 2003 Edgar moved to the United States and went first to college in Kansas and then to Texas A&M University . In the next few years Edgar took part in several major championships such as the World Indoor Championships in 2004 and European Championships in 2006, but was eliminated in the quarter-finals. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , he reached the semifinals, but retired with the British relay in the run-up. Edgar also reached the semi-finals at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin , but was not allowed to start the actual run after a false start. The British 4 x 100 meter relay with the cast Simeon Williamson , Tyrone Edgar, Marlon Devonish and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey won the bronze medal behind the relay from Jamaica and from Trinidad and Tobago in 38.02 s. In 2012 he ended his sports career.

Edgar's competition weight was 84 kg with a height of 1.83 m. He set his best time over 100 meters in 2008 with 10.06 seconds.
