In the 1975/76 winter semester, the University of Stuttgart appointed him to the newly created chair for law, which from 1978 was incorporated into the then Institute for Social Research (today: Institute for Economics and Law). From the winter semester 1982/83 to the summer semester 1984 he was Dean of the Faculty of History, Social and Economic Sciences. From 1978 to 1998 he was an honorary judge at the disciplinary chamber of the Stuttgart Administrative Court . If necessary, he also held occasional courses at the University of Hohenheim . In September 2000 he retired. At the same time, his former chair in Stuttgart fell victim to financial constraints.
