Udriku Manor

Udriku mansion

Udriku is best known for its historical property ( Udriku mõis ). It was separated from Gut Polli as a manor in 1621 . Until it was expropriated as part of the Estonian land reform in 1919 , it was owned by the German Baltic noble family von Rehbinder .

Today's representative manor house was built between 1796 and 1803 on behalf of Gustav Diedrich von Rehbinder. The two-story building was built in the classicism style. The entrance is adorned by a mighty portico with four Ionic columns that support the triangular gable . Two cast iron lions (now badly damaged) watch in front of the entrance . The vestibule with its parade staircase on the ground floor and the music salong on the second floor with elegant stucco decorations have been preserved .

A nursing home was housed in the manor house until the 1990s. Several outbuildings are listed.

The distillery on the estate , built in the first half of the 19th century (renovated in 1888, now in ruins) on the banks of the park pond, was also well known. The classicist grave chapel of the von Rehbinder family in the estate's forest park is no longer preserved.
