The Uelle is created in Dungu by the confluence of the Dungu with the Kibali at Dungu Castle . |
The Uelle (also Uëlle , in the Democratic Congo Belgo-French Uele , in Central Africa Franco-French Ouélé ) is the 1130 km long source river of the Ubangi .

Its catchment area extends over 135,400 km² and is located in the Congolese provinces of Haut-Uele , Bas-Uele and Ituri .
The Uele arises on the western edge of the Central African Sill northwest of Lake Albert from the source rivers Dungu and Kibali . After the confluence with the Mbomou on the border with Central Africa , the river bears the name Ubangi and later becomes the second largest tributary of the Congo .
Its catchment area is inhabited by the Azande .
