The Uferstudios in the Uferhallen are a cultural and event location for contemporary dance in Berlin . They are located on the banks of the Panke in the Gesundbrunnen district and are operated by Tanzfabrik Berlin on the former site of the Berliner Straßenbahn-AG .

The Uferstudios was opened in 2010 by the sponsoring company "Uferstudios GmbH", which was founded for this purpose, in a festive ceremony with the participation of the Governing Mayor Klaus Wowereit . The Federal Cultural Foundation and the Lottery Foundation , which provided 4.3 million euros for the renovation, were also involved in the project .

In the Uferstudios rooms, 14 studios and artist studios are available to international choreographers, dancers and other performing artists for production and training as well as for public performances. In addition to the dance factory in two studios, the information base of the Tanzbüro Berlin, the ada studio and the new inter-university center for dance Berlin (HZT) with five studios, the rooms also contain a media library as well as seminar and office rooms. In addition, various program series and since 2000 organized by the Dance Factory Berlin found in the Uferstudios Biennale Tanznacht Berlin with changing curators instead. The piano salon Christophori is also located in the building complex .

The listed clinker stone building was built in 1928 in the New Objectivity style with expressive motifs based on plans by the architect Jean Krämer . Between 1873 and 2007 the area was used by the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe and its predecessor companies as a depot for the horse-drawn railway and tram .

In 2017 the site was sold to a private investor.
