Ulderic Cipollone (born May 10, 1868 in Recinetti , ( Italy ), † April 3, 1927 in Galați ( Romania )) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and from 1916 to 1920 Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Iaşi .

Life

Cipollone joined the Franciscan community and was ordained a religious priest in 1892 and was sent to Moldova as a missionary. He worked in Galați and in the Franciscan seminary in Hălăuceşti. He became General Commissioner of the Franciscan Order in the Republic of Moldova and in 1913 Vicar General of the Archbishop.

After the death of Archbishop Nicolae Iosif Camilli , he was appointed Apostolic Administrator on January 30, 1916. Because of the war events, the Vatican postponed the appointment of bishops and so he led the diocese in the First World War and in the difficult post-war years. He opened two orphanages and urged believers and clergy to erect monuments to honor the fallen soldiers. He was particularly committed to improving the living conditions of German and Hungarian priests in the deportation camps in Romania.

After Theodore Alexander Cisar was appointed Bisof von Iaşi on April 22, 1920, his consecration and installation on August 22, 1920, the administration ended and Ulderic Cipollone became pastor in Huşi and in 1922 in his former place of work in Galati. He died here on April 3, 1927 and was buried in the priestly crypt of the cemetery.
