Uli Franz

Uli Franz (born April 19, 1949 in Stuttgart ) is a German journalist and author .

After studying in Munich and Berlin , Franz worked as a journalist and editor . He was a China correspondent for various German-language daily newspapers for three years . Since 1986 he has been working as a freelance photographer and book author. He achieved international recognition with his biography of Deng Xiaoping . He has published numerous books on China and Tibet .

He lives in Munich and on the Dalmatian island of Brač .
