Uli Rehberg , also Ulrich Rehberg , (born 1949 or 1950) is a German musician and operator of music labels from Hamburg .

Below average

From about 1981 to 2003 operational Rehberg, initially as a partner and later as a sole proprietor, the since about 1976 existing record store "Under average", whose name alluded to the fact that he was in the basement of a building on the road average in Hamburg-Rotherbaum was . It is part of the history of Hamburg's punk culture as the shop that survived the longest after others with a punk background had long since closed. Later it also became an internationally known size for all atonal music outside the mainstream .

Konnek Records

In 1981 Rehberg took over Konnekschen Records , one of the first punk record stores since 1977 and since 1979 also a punk label in the Hanseatic city . However, only a few records by local bands appeared on the label, while Hamburg punk bands were more likely to find accommodation with labels like Weird System or AGR .

Walter Ulbricht sound foils

As early as 1980, he founded the Walter Ulbricht Schallfolien label , which focused on the publication of innovative and experimental electronic music. Bands such as SPK , Laibach , Throbbing Gristle , The Hafler Trio , Werkbund , whose trustee and part-time work master Rehberg calls himself, and artists such as Asmus Tietchens or John Watermann found early publication opportunities here. Again and again own publications, z. B. as Dr. Kurt Euler , or participation in various music projects.

The Werkbund

The work as a so-called administrator or foreman of the Werkbund has been a large part of his work since 1986. The anonymity of the members of this music project has fueled speculation about the partners ever since. While Asmus Tietchens repeatedly denies his participation, that of Uli Rehberg is highly likely.

Overburden

In 1989 the label Abraum , also attributable to Rehberg, was founded, which is reserved exclusively for the publication of records of the Werkbund and the side project Mechthild von Leusch . The - probably fictional - character Mechthild von Leusch, who gave Rehberg the year of his death in 1989 and who is said to have been a member of the Werkbund, dubbed the Rungholter dances. They were published on the Abraum label in 1990 and 1992 as the first and second book on record. The Rungholt Dances are completed to the trilogy by the LP released by the Werkbund in 1989 under the name Rungholt.

Ditterich von Euler-Donnersperg

Since 1996 Rehberg has been publishing a new booklet of his "Pelzwurstlieder" (rhyming poetry in the spirit of Klopstock , with electronic tape) under the artist name Ditterich von Euler-Donnersperg on Walter Ulbricht Schallfolien annually with the addition of a picture single as well as other sound carriers at irregular intervals. There is also a split LP under this artist name with Commissioner Hjuler on the Psych.KG label , Euskirchen.

Under the same pseudonym, publications were made in various relevant music magazines, such as B. as the author of the Hamburg independent magazine Odradek, which deals at irregular intervals with the research and documentation of electroacoustic, experimental, electronic music. In 2015 Rehberg shot the feature film Sieg der Vernunft as von Euler-Donnersperg , a satire on political propaganda.
