Aggressive Rockproduktionen (AGR) was a German record label from West Berlin that had several very well-known punk bands under contract.

history

The label founded by Karl-Ulrich Walterbach started in 1980 with the sampler Soundtracks zum Untergang , which became very popular in the punk scene. With Slime , Toxoplasma and Canal Terror , the label soon signed some of the greats of the punk scene at the time and from 1982 onwards it licensed American punk bands such as Black Flag and Hüsker Dü from SST Records .

License presses of the Misfits and of the British punk groups Anti-Nowhere League , Peter and the Test Tube Babies , Charged GBH , One Way System and English Dogs also appeared . With Stampede! From the Meteors there was also a Psychobilly publication in 1984 under license on the West Berlin label.

After the underground hits series in 1982 and 1983 as well as the GDR punk sampler "DDR von unten" in 1983, the label became quieter and later mainly re-released old records. In 2001 it was finally sold to Sanctuary Records .
