Ulrich Wachholtz

Ulrich "Uli" Wachholtz (born March 9, 1949 in Eutin ) is a German entrepreneur and publisher . As a personally liable and managing partner, he leads the family business Karl Wachholtz Verlag GmbH und Co KG, which holds media and other investments and is also active in the real estate sector. Since 2009 he has been President of UV Nord, the association of business associations in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein .

Life

Wachholtz's parents are the publisher Ulf Wachholtz and his wife Gisela Wachholtz. Uli Wachholtz graduated from the Holstenschule in Neumünster in 1968 . After training as a publishing clerk and studying business administration in Hamburg, he joined the family's own publishing business in 1974, and in 1987 he took over the management. From 1985 to 1992 he was the founding managing director of the first nationwide private broadcaster in Germany, Radio Schleswig-Holstein . In 2001 he brought the newspaper titles Holsteinischer Courier and Ostholsteiner Anzeiger published by him to the sh: z , the Schleswig-Holstein newspaper publisher , and is co-editor there. Sh: z is a 100 percent subsidiary of medien holding: nord GmbH , of which the partner Uli Wachholtz is co-spokesman. Wachholtz is married to Gabriele Wachholtz . He has two grown children.

Volunteering

From 1994 to 2002 Wachholtz was chairman of the Mittelholstein business association and has been honorary chairman there ever since. Also in 1994 he was elected to the Presidium of the Schleswig-Holstein Business Association. After the merger of the business associations Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein to unite the business associations in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein (UV Nord) on January 1, 2000, Wachholtz initially became vice-president in 2007 and has now been president of UV Nord since 2009 and also chairman of the study and support society the Schleswig-Holstein economy. He has been a member of the BDA Presidium since November 21, 2011 and was re-confirmed in office for four years on November 23, 2015.
