Ulli Roth

Ulli Roth (* 1966 in Oberndorf am Neckar ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

From 1986 to 1995 Roth studied Catholic theology , philosophy and mathematics in Freiburg im Breisgau and Copenhagen . From 1988 to 1990 he did community service in Mannheim . After the first state examination in 1995 in Catholic theology, philosophy and mathematics, he completed a doctoral degree with Peter Walter from 1995 to 1998 . From 1996 to 1998 he was a scholarship holder of the Cusanuswerk Episcopal Study Fund . After receiving his doctorate in 1998 at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau with a dissertation Seeking Reason. From 1998 to 2000, he completed his legal clerkship in Tübingen and Reutlingen , 2nd state examination, in Nicolaus Cusanus's concept of faith . From 2000 to 2002 he was a research assistant in the DFG project "Hermeneutics intracultural - intercultural - transcultural" (head: Wolfgang Reinhard ) at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau. From 2001 to 2016 he was a high school teacher for Catholic religion, philosophy and mathematics in Pforzheim and Offenburg . After completing his habilitation in 2010 in the subject of “Catholic Dogmatics” at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau with the habilitation thesis The interpretation story of Psalm 110 in Christianity. From 2010 to 2016 he taught the history of exegesis and systematic reflection as a private lecturer in Freiburg im Breisgau and had lectureships in Koblenz. In 2016 he was appointed professor for Catholic theology with a focus on fundamental theology / dogmatics at the Institute for Catholic Theology at the University of Koblenz-Landau , Koblenz campus .

His research areas are the history of theology of the Middle Ages with a focus on the 15th century and the examination of Islam , scripture hermeneutics and the history of exegesis , the doctrine of grace , modern and late modern philosophy and soteriology , especially soteriology of the Middle Ages; Preparation of the fascicle Volume III 2.
