Ulrich Brenner

Ulrich Brenner (* 1946 in Württemberg ) is a German journalist . From 2002 until his retirement in July 2011, he was head and managing director of the German School of Journalism (DJS) in Munich .

Life

After studying German , political science and history in Tübingen and Munich, he trained as an editor at the DJS. He started his career in 1974 in the local section of the Stuttgarter Zeitung , and three years later moved to the political department. When Horst Stern founded the magazine Natur , he was hired in 1983 as head of duty at the environmental magazine. The later editor-in-chief Manfred Bissinger appointed him as his deputy.

After a position as managing editor at the PM magazine , he joined the Süddeutsche Zeitung magazine in 1991 as deputy editor-in-chief . In 1996, Brenner gained experience in the field of corporate publishing at BMW Magazin , where he was most recently responsible for editing. In 2002 he took over the management of the German School of Journalism in Munich, where he has been a lecturer in magazine training since 1985.
