Ulrich brother

Ulrich Bruder (mentioned from 1494 in Basel ; † 1518 or 1519 ) was a Swiss carpenter and carver of German origin.

Life

Ulrich Bruder von Konstanz has been in Basel since 1494, where he acquired citizenship between 1494 and 1497. In 1495 he acquired the guild rights of the spinning weather guild , in which all building trades and the wood processing industry were united. 1504–1511 he was a member of the board of the spinning weather guild and thus also of the Grand Council . His best-known work is the choir stalls in St. Peter's Church in Basel, on which he also carved a self-portrait.
