Ulrich Busse (theologian)

Ulrich Busse (* 1943 in Meschede ) is a German theologian .

Life

After studying theology, philosophy , psychology , Jewish studies and classical philology at the universities in Munich , Münster and Jerusalem , supported by the German National Academic Foundation , he became a graduate theologian in 1970. From 1970 to 1971 he was entrusted with the office of student pastor at the engineering school for mechanical engineering and computer science Paderborn, Dept. Meschede . He studied the history of the Second Temple in 1971/1972 with Michael Avi-Yonah and Menahem Stern at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem . From 1972 to 1975 he was Ernst Haenchen's private secretary . From 1972 to 1981 he was a research assistant or assistant at the theological faculties in Münster and Bamberg . After receiving his doctorate in 1976 at the Catholic Theol. Faculty of the University of Münster with Joachim Gnilka , he became a student councilor in 1981. H. for Biblical Introductory Studies in Bamberg. In 1982 he was appointed professor for Catholic theology / New Testament at the University of Duisburg . From 1983 to 1993 he was chairman of the IT commission of Faculty 1 at the University of Duisburg. From 1988 to 1993 he was a member of the Senate Commission for Finance at the University of Duisburg. From 1986 to 1992 he was chairman of the seminar Luke Acts: Tradition and New Creation of the Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas. For Jan van der Watt , he hosted the research fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in 1990/1991 . As a lecturer (1983–1993) he lectured at the GH University in Essen. Since 1993 he has been teaching as a university professor for Biblical Theology and its didactics with a focus on the New Testament at the Institute for Catholic Theology at the University of Essen. From 1997 to 2003 he was chairman of the working group of German-speaking Catholic New Testament scholars (AKN).

His main research interests are Johannine and Lukan writings, biblical and Hellenistic metaphors and interpretative historical full-text and literature databases.
