Ulrich Heifer (born October 1, 1930 in Siegen ; † October 14, 2018 in Bonn ) was a German university professor and forensic doctor .

Life

Ulrich Heifer was born in Siegen in 1930 as the son of the chemist and “local poet” Dr. Otto Heifer (1889–1969) born. He studied medicine at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , where he received his doctorate in medicine in 1957 . Habilitated in forensic medicine in 1967 , he was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Bonn in 1970. In 1976 he was entrusted with the provisional management of the Institute for Forensic Medicine at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . On August 1, 1978 he was appointed full professor and director of the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the University of Bonn, which he headed until his retirement in 1996.

From 1983 to 1984 and from October 1, 1986 to September 30, 1987, he was Dean of the Medical Faculty, and from October 1, 1988 to September 30, 1989 and from October 1, 1992 to September 30, 1994 Senator of the University .

In 1986 he received the Widmark Award (→ Erik Widmark ), in 1988 the Senator Lothar Danner Medal in gold and in 1990 the Goslar Medal of the German Academy of Transport Sciences. In 2000 he was awarded the Konrad Handel Foundation Prize by the Foundation for the Promotion of Forensic Medicine on the occasion of the 79th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Forensic Medicine .
