Ulrich Leinweber (born June 20, 1953 in Kassel ) is a German documentary filmmaker and film producer .

Life

After graduating from the Friedrich List School in his hometown , he refused military service and performed his peace service in the Stutthof Concentration Camp Memorial near Danzig and in the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp Memorial in Oświęcim as part of the Action Reconciliation Peace Service . During this time a first collaboration took place with Christoph Heubner and Volker von Törne (editor of “Situation Report”, poems and songs 1976). He completed his studies in German and visual communication at the University of Kassel . The first documentary films with comments by Christoph Heubner and Volker von Törne followed parallel to my studies.
