Ulrich Lins

Ulrich Lins (born August 4, 1943 in Bonn ) is a German historian . He studied history , political science and Japanese studies in Cologne and Bonn. 1971/72 he was visiting researcher at the University of Tokyo. In 1975 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the Japanese oomoto movement.

Professionally, he dealt with academic exchange. He was the first head of the DAAD branch in Tokyo, founded in 1978 . He is co-editor of an anthology on Germany in the past and present (with Ohnishi Takeo, Japanese, 12 volumes, 1981–1986).

Ulrich Lins is married and has two children.

The dangerous language

The Esperanto original of this book by Ulrich Lins on the persecution of Esperantists in the Third Reich, in the Soviet Union and other countries was published in 1988 (revised version 2016). It has been translated into seven languages, including a. into Japanese and English.
