Ulrich Meyer-Cording

Ulrich Meyer-Cording (born May 22, 1911 , † December 3, 1998 ) was a German lawyer and ministerial official.

Career

Meyer-Cording completed his studies with a doctorate. He worked in the Reich Ministry of Justice from 1939 to 1945 . At the same time he did military service and was taken prisoner towards the end of the war. On his return he was from 1946 legal laborers, then judge at the office - and the Heilbronn District Court . From 1947 he worked as a lawyer in Stuttgart.

In 1950 he joined the Federal Ministry of Justice . After working as an assistant lecturer, he was head of the department for public agricultural law from 1952 to 1953, and from 1953 to 1956 he was head of the department for organizational law in commercial economy, trade law, craft law, antitrust and monopoly law, energy law, management and price law, commercial law issues relating to European economic affairs Integration and, from 1954, again head of the department responsible for agricultural law. In 1956 he moved to the Federal Ministry for Atomic Energy and Water Management , where he was head of the group for international cooperation and at the same time head of the department for fundamental issues, foreign nuclear law, international approximation of laws and bilateral agreements. Meyer-Cording completed his habilitation under Gerhard Kegel at the University of Cologne in 1957 and since 1960 has been an adjunct professor for banking law, competition law and antitrust law, among other things. From 1958 to 1964 he was head of the department for European intergovernmental economic cooperation in the Federal Ministry of Economics . From 1964 to 1972 he was Vice President of the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg.
