Ulrich Mohrbutter

Ulrich Mohrbutter (born January 4, 1889 in Oldenburg ; † January 21, 1971 in Birkenstein , Bavaria ) was a German film producer (production and production manager as well as production group leader) and naval officer of the Imperial - like Reichsmarine .

In 1907, Mohrbutter had embarked on a 21-year military career with the Imperial Navy and was in command of a submarine during the First World War (from December 1915 on the third SM UC 5 until it ran aground on April 27, 1916). His rank was that of a first lieutenant at sea .

Born in Oldenburg, he moved to UFA in January 1929 and took over the management of its Berlin Capitol cinemas. In the same year, UFA boss Ernst Hugo Correll brought Mohrbutter to work as a unit manager for film production, and in 1935 he began working as production manager . His son Jürgen Mohrbutter, born in 1924, worked as a unit manager, production manager and producer in film and television.
