Ulrich Mueller

Ulrich Otto Mueller (born April 25, 1949 in Schwäbisch Hall ) is a German physician , sociologist and politician .

Live and act

Mueller studied medicine and sociology in Tübingen , Berlin and Frankfurt am Main . He received his doctorate in 1976 under Helmut Breuninger in Tübingen. med. and in 1979 with Jürgen Habermas in Frankfurt am Main as Dr. phil. He received his license to practice medicine in 1979 after his time as a medical assistant at the Port Hospital St. Pauli and at the University Clinics in Hamburg-Eppendorf and Munich . The habilitationHe graduated in Sociology in 1986 at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Free University of Berlin, his habilitation in Social Science Computer Science at the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Koblenz followed in 1993. From 1987 to 1993 he was scientific director at the Center for Surveys, Methods and Analyzes (ZUMA) in Mannheim . Since 1994 he has been director of the Institute for Medical Sociology and Social Medicine at the Philipps University of Marburg .

His main research area is demography , especially medical demography and biodemography. In addition, he has long been active as an expert in national and European funding institutions.

Since April 2016 Mueller for the FDP member of the district council Marburg-Biedenkopf .
