Ulrich Weiß (political scientist)

Ulrich Weiß (born February 2, 1947 in Augsburg ) is a German philosopher and university professor of political science .

Life

After Weiß had studied political science , philosophy , history and German at the University of Munich , he received his doctorate in 1974 (under Lobkowicz ) with the dissertation topic: System and Machine. On the coherence of Hobbesian thinking . Since November 1979 he has had a regular teaching position for political theory at the Munich School of Politics , which he still holds today. In 1989 he completed his habilitation at the University of Augsburg with the thesis: Hugo Dingler's methodical philosophy. A critical reconstruction of their voluntaristic-pragmatic justification context . 1992–1998 he was professor of political science (political theory and history of ideas) at the University of Passau . In 1994/95 he took on a two-semester guest professorship for philosophy at the University of Ulm . Since 1998 he has held the chair for political theory at the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich . Since 1991 he has also been working at the Humboldt Study Center for the Humanities at Ulm University.
