Ulrik Remy

Ulrik Remy (born February 24, 1949 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer ) is a German writer, composer and songwriter .

Life

Remy grew up in Wattenscheid for the first few years. In 1956 his family moved with him to Weiden near Cologne. From 1960 he attended the Landheim Schondorf boarding school . The composer Carl Orff lived in the neighboring village . His musical training began with him and the conductor Rafael Kubelík . After conducting his debut concert in January 1956, he was brought to Cologne and graduated from high school there in 1969. During his law studies in Cologne, he experienced his first successes as a songwriter from 1971 . There he switched to professional life as an artist, wrote songs, poems, scripts and stories, moderated, acted, directed and also appeared as a singer. In 1974 his debut album was released, everyone comes somewhere , still under the name "Ulrik". In 1978 he founded "Remy Music" and produced his own records. In 1981 he retired from the stage and moved to Italy.

In 1982 he took on a position as a radio presenter at a local radio station in Portoferraio , Italy. He received a linguistics teaching assignment at the University of Siena , where he obtained a doctorate in 1985 .

In 1983 he was the founder and operator of RadioMar in Alicante , Spain. In 1990 he returned to Germany and worked as a writer and language teacher before emigrating to the United States in 1994 , where he worked as a manager in various software and telecommunications companies.

After the plant of his company MacroTEL was destroyed by a hurricane in 2004, he only works as a composer and writer. In August 2015 he returned to Germany; he currently lives in Aachen.
