research

With her working group “Knowledge Construction”, Ulrike Cress deals with social and cognitive psychological processes that are relevant to the joint construction and use of knowledge. Many of their research projects serve to further develop the model of the “co-evolution of individual learning and collaborative knowledge construction”, which was presented by Cress and Kimmerle in 2008 and expanded in 2014 to include the use of social media. It combines concepts from Piaget , Vygotsky and Luhmann and conceptualizes learning and shared knowledge construction as a co-evolution of cognitive and social systems that are structurally linked . The model explains e.g. B. Processes of knowledge construction with wikis, with Wikipedia or other social software applications.
