Ulvi Manor

The manor of Ulvi was first mentioned in a document in 1489. The place was initially called Oehrten after a noble family that is now extinct. He got the Estonian name Ulvi in 1551 after the owner Hinrich Wulff.

In the 18th century the estate belonged to the Clapier de Colongue family . In 1803 it became the property of the noble Baltic German family von Winkler. The last owner of the land before it was expropriated as part of the Estonian land reform of 1919 was Alexander von Winkler. He then kept the core of the estate with the historic manor house until the Baltic Germans were resettled in 1939.

Today's mansion was probably built in two phases. The single-storey stone mansion was built around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1880/81 the architect Friedrich Modi redesigned it in the style of historicism . He added a two-story outbuilding. On its central axis, an open tower with a balcony in the neo-renaissance style was added. Today the town hall of the rural community of Rägavere is located in the manor house.

There are numerous historical outbuildings from different eras around the manor house.
