Ulytschne ( Ukrainian Уличне ; Russian Уличное Ulitschnoje , Polish Uliczno or Ułyczno ) is a village in the western Ukrainian Lviv Oblast with about 3800 inhabitants.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1443. It initially belonged to the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania , Ruthenian Voivodeship .

During the first partition of Poland in 1772 the village became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).

In 1900 the community of Ułyczno had 559 houses with 2929 inhabitants, of which 2719 were Ruthenian-speaking, 193 were German-speaking, 17 were Polish-speaking, 2705 were Greek-Catholic, 31 were Roman-Catholic, 68 were Jews and 125 were of other faith.

After the end of the Polish-Ukrainian War in 1919, Ułyczno became part of Poland. In 1921 the Uliczno municipality had 577 houses with 2939 inhabitants, of which 2472 were Ruthenians, 439 Poles, 18 Germans, 10 Jews (nationality), 2796 Greek Catholics, 84 Protestants, 50 Jews (religion), 9 Roman Catholics.

During the Second World War it belonged first to the Soviet Union and from 1941 to the General Government, from 1945 back to the Soviet Union, now part of the Ukraine .

Gassendorf

In 1784, as part of the Josephine colonization, German colonists of the Lutheran denomination were settled on the northern plot of the village of Ułyczno. The colony was called Gassendorf and became an independent municipality.

The Protestants build a house of prayer that belonged to the parish of Brigidau .

In 1900 the community of Gassendorf had 46 houses with 257 inhabitants, of which 247 were German-speaking, 10 Ruthenian-speaking, 10 Greek-Catholic, 7 Jews, 240 of other faiths.

In 1921 the community of Gassendorf had 38 houses with 191 inhabitants, of which 174 were Germans, 11 Ruthenians, 6 Jews (nationality), 174 Protestant, 11 Greek-Catholic, 6 Jews (religion).

Gassendorf ( Гассендорф ) is now a hamlet of Ulytschne.
