Umberto D'Orsi

Umberto D'Orsi (born July 30, 1929 in Trieste , † August 31, 1976 in Rome ) was an Italian actor .

Life

D'Orsi graduated from law, but within three years established himself as an actor; he played in small amateur revue theaters and organized the university theater scene. During these years he already played a few small roles in movies. From Vittorio Gassman he was chosen for a role in his stage production of Richard III. involved. From 1962 he worked extensively in film and delivered between 10 and 15 appearances per year, in which the plump, almost exclusively comedy actor often interpreted eccentric, grotesque characters. Apart from a few serious character roles (in police films, for example), he mainly played in farces (including several times with Pippo Franco and Franco & Ciccio ), although he was dubbed several times despite an enormously changeable voice. The artist, who died at the age of 47, was married to his colleague Milly Ristori. In addition to his involvement with Carosello , he was seen on television in various commercials.
