Umm Salal ( Arabic أم صلال, DMG Umm Ṣalāl ) is one of eight municipalities in Qatar . The main settlement is the city of the same name Umm Salal . The community had a total of 90,835 inhabitants at the 2015 census.

Umm Salal is bordered by Doha to the southeast, ar-Rayyan to the south, al-Shahaniyah to the west, al-Chaur to the north and ad-Daʿayan to the east . It has no coast. The parish occupies approximately 2.7% of the territory of Qatar and is relatively small. The landscape consists of many open spaces and rock formations.

history

Umm Salal was established as a church in 1972 along with the four other original churches of Qatar. The municipal administration was inaugurated on November 29, 1974.
