Al-Chaur ( Arabic بلدية الخور, DMG Baladiyyat al-Ḫaur ) is one of the eight municipalities of Qatar with the capital of the same name, al-Chaur . 60 kilometers south is Doha, the country's capital. The Al-Muhannadi tribe, consisting of seven Bedouin families, has lived here since the late 19th century .

The municipality's administrative building is located at the entrance to al-Chaur. The historic building is one of the oldest in the city. After the completion of an extension, the original building will be adapted to the new facade as part of a renovation , which incorporates traditional elements of Qatari culture.

tourism

Recently, tourism in the region has been growing . The palace Al-Sultan Beach Hotel & Resort, which has been converted into a hotel , is particularly well known .
