Undine Kurth (born September 1, 1951 in Tanndorf ) a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

From 2005 to 2013 she was one of a total of four parliamentary directors in the Bundestag faction of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen.

Life and work

First, Undine Kurth learned to be a nurse , then studied interior architecture and industrial design in Halle (Saale) from 1972 to 1978 . Since then she has been working as an interior designer and graduate designer. Undine Kurth is married.

Undine Kurth has been Vice President of the German Nature Conservation Ring (DNR) since 2012

Political party

After Undine Kurth had already been involved in a citizens' initiative against a road construction project in the Harz Mountains, she became a member of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party in 1994. In the same year she was elected spokeswoman for the Greens in Saxony-Anhalt . After her election to the federal executive committee in 2000, she resigned this office of spokeswoman or, from 1996, the state chairman. She was a member of the federal executive committee until 2002. She later assumed the office of state chairman again until 2008. Since then she has been a member of the state executive committee of Saxony-Anhalt.

From 2002 to 2013 she was a member of the German Bundestag . Since then she has been spokeswoman for the Bundestag faction Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen for tourism and nature conservation . In February 2005 she was elected Parliamentary Secretary of the Green Group. Since October 2005 she has also been the parliamentary group spokesperson for animal welfare policy .
