She goes on vacation abroad, takes music lessons and wants to become an actress. Sweta is 13 years old and lives with her grandmother in simple circumstances because her father and mother have abandoned her. She wants to be a sniper in the Russian armed forces .

After Alik is released from prison, the plot comes to a head. He had served his sentence there for a robbery . Now his former accomplices ask him to reveal the hiding place of the booty from the attack. If he doesn't, they threaten to kidnap his daughters. Dina is hidden in another apartment. Her older sister is supposed to take care of her. When the mafiosi find the hiding place, the two girls manage to escape. Quote

“When you are eight years old, the world is against you. When you are 13 years old, you are against the world. "

Connection to the brother films

The film is considered the unofficial third part of the brother films, The Brother and The Brother 2 , which are hugely successful in Russia and in which director Sergei Bodrow junior. starred a few years earlier. In addition to the related title, this is supported by the relocation of the plot to the gangster milieu and a guest appearance by Bodrow as a charming nouveau riche Russian connected to the mafia. It remains to be seen whether Bodrow will again play Danila Bagrow , the main character in the "Brother" films.

Awards

The film was awarded the Grand Prix for best debut film at the Kinotawr film festival in Sochi ; Oxana Akinschina and Katja Gorina each received an actor award. At the Norwegian Tromsø Internasjonale Film Festival 2002, the work also won the Don Quixote Prize .
