The Universal Display Corporation (UDC) is an American company based in Ewing , New Jersey , the organic light- developed (OLEDs). The company is a fabless semiconductor manufacturer, so it does not have its own factories.

The company was founded in 1994 by Sherwin I. Seligsohn. It develops and licenses technologies for the production of OLEDs, especially PHOLEDS ( phosphorescence- based OLEDs). Licensees include LG Display , Samsung Display Corporation, Konica Minolta , Sumitomo Chemical , Lumiotec , Pioneer , Kaneka and OLEDWorks . By far the most important are Samsung with 62% and LG with 25% of sales.

The phosphorescent emitter materials are manufactured by PPG Industries for UDC.

Areas of application are both displays for z. B. Smartphones and televisions as well as lighting purposes .
