Universitätsstrasse (Bochum)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The University Street is about 9 km long road in Bochum . It runs from Bochum's main train station in downtown Bochum to Wittener Strasse or Unterstrasse in Bochum-Langendreer .

It crosses the A 43 and the Bochumer Ring .

It is partially developed as a motorway-like road.

It connects the health campus , the Ruhr University Bochum and the Bochum University of Applied Sciences to the Bochumer Ring and to the Autobahn 43 (released in 1971) with regard to motorized individual transport. With regard to local public transport (ÖPNV), it connects the universities, the Neue Gymnasium and the Erich-Kästner-Gesamtschule to the main station via the U35 tram line (formerly also known as lines 5, 305 and 306).

The distinctive structures include the eccentric house , the Gerhard-Petschelt-Brücke and the Stadtbahnbrücke in the area of the Hustadt tram terminus, which has already been built as an advance for a previously unrealized extension of the tram to Witten .
