Unru is a black metal / crustcore band from Bielefeld .
history
The band was founded in 2012 under an unknown, different name. The initial line-up included the singer A., the bassist T. and the drummer H., although the latter two had previously played in another band. After the original guitarist left the band, he was replaced by S. The band then changed its name to Unru and is closely related to the Bielefeld AJZ . The band name Unru stands for unrest in the medical sense as well as for the balance as a component of a mechanical clockwork . The balance is a metaphor for the fact that people are unable to escape from the limits of their fears , addictions and compulsions .
A year after the founding released UNRU the Demo Demo MMXIII . This was followed by Split - singles with the band Sun Worship and Paramnesia and own single The Final Bloodbath . Ultimately, Unru was signed by Supreme Chaos Records and released their debut album Als Tier ist der Mensch ist nothing in March 2016 . The album title refers to the anthropological statement that humans are deficient beings . Newborns have no way of looking after themselves and it takes a year before people can walk at all.
Style and ideology
Unru started out as a D-beat band and later mixed elements of black metal and crustcore into their music. The band goes unconventional ways, as tradition, identity and scene mean nothing to the musicians . In addition, according to bassist T. it would be "illogical to deal with problems and crises with schematic ordinary music". The texts are written in German .
The German magazine Rock Hard led Unru together with bands such as Thränenkind , Ancst and Serpent Eater as part of the new movement of "left Black Metal". These bands cultivate the idea of Do it yourself and are characterized by environmental awareness and a clear rejection of right-wing extremism . However, the band is critical of the political left . According to bassist T., the German left would be German first and then left.
