The place Untergrasensee is a district of parishes and was until 1971 an independent municipality.

location

The Kirchdorf Untergrasensee is located in the Rottal am Grasenseebach about two kilometers east of Pfarrkirchen. The place name refers to the location of the place on the lower reaches of the Grasenseer Bach , which flows northwest of the village and flows into the Rott a few hundred meters from the town center .

history

In 1011 King Heinrich II donated Grasmarasaha in the Rottgau to the Bamberg diocese he founded . With Grasmarasaha the Grasenseebach should be meant, on which Ober- and Untergrasensee lie. Nobles were already present in Grasensee in the 12th and 13th centuries, although no distinction was made between Obergrasensee and Untergrasensee.

In 1423 the Edelbeck bought the seat at Untergrasensee from Beatrix von Cramer zu Münchsdorf . The towns of Untergaiching and Woching belonged to it. The former Untergrasensee Castle has stood in Untergrasensee since 1606 . This can also be seen on the engraving by Michael Wening from 1721.

Untergrasensee and Obergrasensee came to the Counts of Baumgarten on November 24, 1745 . From the Hofmark Grasensee the Patrimonial Court II. Class Grasensee emerged in 1821 , which existed until 1848. The official seat of the court was probably in Untergrasensee.

In 1811 the tax district Untergrasensee was created, from which the district court municipality Untergrasensee emerged in 1818. It had 29 districts in 1964 and was incorporated into the city of Pfarrkirchen on January 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

In addition to a few small businesses, agriculture and forestry dominate the village and the surrounding countryside.
