Josef Bauer (politician, 1881)
Josef Bauer (born January 25, 1881 in Untergrasensee , † April 30, 1958 in Munich ) was a German politician of the NSDAP and SS leader.
Life
Bauer, the son of a village blacksmith, worked as a teacher in Mitterfels , Passau and Munich after attending the preparation school and the teachers' seminar . From 1915 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier and was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the King Ludwig Cross .
Bauer took part in the Hitler putsch in Munich in 1923 as a storm troop leader . In 1925 he became a member of the NSDAP (membership number 34) and local group leader in Munich. In 1930 he was an imperial speaker and head of the Gaurednerschule. On the nomination for the Reichstag election on November 12, 1933, his occupation as senior city school director and his place of residence as Munich are specified.
From 1933 to 1937, Bauer was chairman of the Bavarian teachers' association, which was brought into line . In Munich, Bauer led the National Socialist "school fight" for the abolition of denominational schools by the community schools , the massive state repression at the annual school enrollment was accompanied and 1937 ultimately led to that 96% of students enrolled in community schools and therefore closed the parochial schools for lack of pupils were .
In 1937, Bauer became city school councilor in Munich and head of the Reich Main Office in the Central Office for Local Politics. From 1941 he was head of the Munich district office of the office for educators in the Nazi teachers' association .
Bauer, who was also a member of the SS , was appointed SS brigade leader in 1941 .

From 1932 to 1933 Bauer was a member of the Bavarian state parliament and was chairman of the NSDAP parliamentary group . From November 1933 to 1945 he was a member of the Reichstag .
