Urs Bugmann

Urs Bugmann (* 1951 in Cham ZG ) is a Swiss editor , literary critic , theater critic and journalist .

From 1970 to 1975 Bugmann studied German , journalism and literary criticism at the University of Zurich , where he received his doctorate in 1981 under Peter von Matt on Thomas Bernhard's autobiographical writings . He was a cultural journalist for Die Weltwoche , the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and the Luzerner Neusten Nachrichten . He was also editor-in-chief of the bookselling magazine Bücherpick . Since 1985 Bugmann has been writing for the Neue Luzerner Zeitung about contemporary German-speaking and Swiss authors as well as about Swiss theater and the visual arts. He was a member of the jury for the award of the Swiss Book Prize .
